Position - Access Setup/Access Definition
Usage
Use this tab to manage access rights of positions. It allows positions listed
in the Supervising Position ID field to access other positions. This
access, however, is restricted by the following fields:
- Access to Position Holder - grants access to employees assigned
to the position entered in the Accessed Position ID.
- Access All Subordinate Positions - grants access to all
subordinate positions of the position entered in the Accessed Position ID.
- Selection Type - if the include option is selected,
access rights defined in other fields will be granted. If the
exclude is selected, access rights will be removed.
- Access Role ID - an access role that specifies what fields can be
accessed and interacted with.
- Valid From and Valid To - fields that specify when the
access is valid.
- Generation Order - important only if you have several records
defined for a single supervising position during the same validity period. If a supervising position receives access to
a subordinate position from several access records, the records overwrite
each other. As a result, the subordinate position is accessible only
with the access role of the last overlapping record. You can read more about
it here.
You can display access rights valid on a specific date by clicking the
Valid on Date option at the top of the tab.
