Enter Criteria for PM Generation
Explanation
This activity is used to enter criteria for calendar and
event based PM action generation, and to connect calendars to the standard job.
You can define values for a single generation criteria,
i.e., for either a calendar or an event based generation, or a combination of the two
generation criteria.
Prerequisites
- Events must have been defined in IFS/Basic Data for
Maintenance,
Work Order and PM Basic Data.
- Work Time Calendars must have been defined (and the
calendar status set to Generated) in IFS/Application Services.
- The standard job must not have been connected to PM actions or
work orders.
System Effects
As a result of this activity, the PM action generated
from the standard job will receive the generation criteria specified.

Procedure
- Open either the
Separate Standard Job
window or the
Route Standard Job window.
- Create a new record (F5) or
query for an existing one (F3).
- Click the
General tab. Follow the appropriate steps:
For Calendar based generation:
- In the Start Value field, enter the time from
which you want the PM action (once generated) to be effective.
- In the Start Unit field, select the unit of
measure for the value entered in the Start Value field.
- In the Interval field, enter the time interval,
as to how often the work orders have to be generated.
- In the Interval Unit field, select the unit
of measure for the time interval.
- In the Valid From and Valid To fields,
enter the time range for which the standard job will be valid. These fields
can be used to limit the effectiveness of the standard job and the PM action
that is generated afterwards.
- In the Calendar field, enter a suitable work
time calendar. Use the List of Values to select a suitable value. The
PM plan lines of the PM
action will
be generated in accordance with the connected calendar.
For Event based generation:
- In the Event field, select the event that
will activate the PM action. Use the List of Values to select a suitable
value.
- In the Start field, specify, when, in the
order of events you want the action to start.
- In the Interval field, enter the event interval,
as to how often work orders have to be generated.
- Save the information (F12).
