Define Property Codes for Organization Units
Explanation
This activity is used to connect property codes to organization units.
Property codes are used to store numerical and text values that do not have a
designated place in IFS Applications. For example, a number of coffee machines
assigned to a certain department can be registered as a property code and added
to the designated organization unit.
Prerequisites
In order to perform this activity:
- An organization structure has to be defined in the Graphical
Organization Structure window.
- Property codes have to be defined in the Property Field Definition window.
System Effects
As a result of this activity, a property code will be defined and assigned for an
organization unit.

Procedure
- Open the Graphical Organization Structure window.
- Search or populate to find the relevant organization structure.
- Select the relevant organization unit from the graphical object
structure on the Organization Structure tab.
- Navigate to the Property Codes tab and create a new
record.
- If you selected a matrix structure, select the ID of a company for which the
property code will be defined in the Company ID field. You can use the list of values.
Skip this step for company structures.
- In the Property Code field, select the property code identifier.
- In the Property Value field, enter the value of the property
code. For certain codes, you can use a list of values.
- In the Valid From and Valid To fields, enter the validity
period of the property code.
- Save the information.
