Use this window to reassign the shipment line quantity for package parts, from one shipment to another shipment, or back to the customer order. There are several situations where it may be necessary to reassign the shipment line quantity; for example, to handle a limited transport capacity, a backorder situation where you want to prepare the next delivery in advance, a customer requiring a certain delivery schedule etc. The person responsible for the shipment may realize that a shipment quantity must be reassigned at any stage in the process, including just before loading the truck. Therefore, it is possible, as long as the shipment is not delivered.
It is only possible to reassign complete packages. Depending on if you reassign reserved packages or not reserved packages, different kinds of component quantities must be included, based on the quantity per assembly for the component. In the lower part of the window, the components are represented as one record for the quantity not reserved, and one record for each reservation. When the number of packages to reassign is entered in the header, if possible, the component quantity is decided automatically in the lower table. For instance, this is not possible if the package is partly reserved and you want to move a not reserved package. Then you might need to include some reserved component quantity, in addition, to get a complete package.
When reassigning the shipment line quantities of the package and its components, these will be disconnected from the current shipment and connected to the destination shipment or the customer order. As an option, the reserved and picked quantities of the components can either be released or reassigned to the other shipment or the customer order. If the parts are picked and placed in the shipment inventory, they will not be released when reassigning a shipment line.
Note that it is not possible to reassign packages that were previously delivered incompletely.
