Define Operator Information per Owner Organization

Explanation

This activity is used to define operator designators for owner organizations. Only one operator designator can be defined for a single owner organization. Designators are codes used to identify an airline for commercial purposes such as reservations, timetables, tickets, tariffs, air waybills, and in airline interline telecommunications. Examples of operator designators are BA for British Airways and SK for Scandinavian Airlines. The predefined operator information will be used when automatically generating operational plan IDs for the flight log. The operational plan ID is used to define which operational event the vehicle has completed.

Furthermore, when defining operator designators in basic data you can also indicate how many days the void and closed flight logs for an owner organization should remain in the flight log. Once the number of days is reached, the flight logs will be moved to history through a background job. This functionality is useful as both void and closed flight logs can be important information to view together with open logs for a vehicle for a given period of time. After awhile this information is not as relevant and therefore becomes historical.
