Start Service

Explanation

Use this activity to launch the IFS/OPC Service and initiate data acquisition. The service takes into account the settings of the pre-defined configuration file.

Prerequisites

• Predefined configuration file.
• OPC Service settings defined on the IFS/OPC Client.

System Effects

The OPC service will be up and running to acquire data.

Procedure

Follow one of these two procedures to start the OPC Service:

1. Click the Windows Start Menu and select Control Panel.
2. Select Administrative Tools and then select Services.
3. Select IFS OPC Service 2.0 from the list of Services and click Start (alternatively right click on the service name and select Start).

Or

1. On the IFS/OPC Client Administrator, click the View menu, and then click Options.
2. Click the Service tab.
3. Click Start Service to start the OPC Service.
4. Close the OPC client.
