An item class is a high level conceptual object that can exist on its own or be connected to other objects such as equipment objects, parts, object types, tool/equipment objects, tool/equipment types, linear asset segments, linear asset objects, segment types and linear asset types. Item classes can form a hierarchy as well.
To view all the data set up for the topmost parent item class in an item class hierarchical structure, which comprises of functions, fault types, components, causes, symptoms and corrective actions, right-click on the item class line and click Failure Analysis Setup Navigator.
