Standard Operation

[About Standard Operation]

[To Define and Maintain Routings] [To MFG Standard]

Usage

Use this window to create standard operations. Creating a standard operation allows you to define a commonly used operation once and then copy or reference it in routings and routing templates. This eliminates the time consuming task of re-entering the same data repeatedly in various routings.

If you later decide to update a standard operation, you can choose the extent to which you propagate the changes. If you reference a standard operation in routings or routing templates, you are prompted by the system whenever you change the standard operation as to how you want the changes to be implemented. Changing information in either of the tabs Standard Operation Tool or Standard Operation Work Guidelines will also prompt you to choose the method of propagation.

If you copy the standard operation into routings and routing templates, changing the standard operation will not affect the copied instances. You will not be prompted regarding propagation for copied instances of the standard operation.

Standard operation is site specific as it uses data elements such as Work Center, Labor Class and Tools that are site specific.

For the description of each tab in the window, follow the appropriate link: Standard Operation Tools, Standard Operation Work Guidelines, Where Used - Routing Templates, Where Used - Routings.
