Copy from Shop Order Material

Explanation

Use this activity to copy shop order material details of a specified shop order to an existing or new alternate on a pre-existing product structure revision.

Prerequisites

• This activity requires that the product structure revision for which you want to create an alternative must exist.
• Just possible to copy from shop orders created on the site for which the product structure is connected to.
• It is not possible to copy an existing alternative that already have records, it needs to be blank.
 

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the system copies material details from a specific shop order to an alternative on a preexisting product structure revision. All connected objects, Document Text and Work Guidelines, are automatically copied. No serial pointers are copied, these must be manually defined by the user. The new alternate will be set to the default state, as defined in the Site/Manufacturing window.

Procedure

1. Select the part and the source product structure alternative.
2. Right-click the Product Structure tab, then click Copy from Shop Order.
3. In the Source Shop Order group box, click List to select the shop order to copy from in the Shop Order No field.
4. If necessary update the alternative number in the Structure Rev/Alt field in the Destination Alternative group box. Current routing alternate will be suggested, but if it is a requirement to create a new alternate then it can also be updated.
5. Click OK.
