Perform Resource Requirements Planning
Explanation
Use this activity to calculate Resource Requirement Planning (RRP). You can run RRP for one or all of the master schedule
sets and for one or all sites to which you have access. RRP also lets you work with
resources other than the usual machine capacity.
Prerequisites
- This activity requires that you have entered forecasts and had run
Master Scheduling (MS), since RRP is based
on the manufacturing plan that results from MS.
- The resources needed to manufacture a part must be entered.
- The shop calendar must be up-to-date. RRP plans
the workload only for days included in the shop calendar. Only work days should exist in
the shop calendar, so weekends and holidays are not counted in RRP.
System Effects
As a result of this activity:
- The system calculations show a plan indicating how well
capacity meets demands.
- RRP shows how the manufacturing plan affects factors such as
storage space, personnel, transport capacity, machine capacity, etc.
