Import Customer Schedule Plan Demand for Level 1 Part

Explanation

Use this activity to import a user-specified set of customer scheduling plan demands that have been generated in IFS/Customer Scheduling. This activity allows you to represent plan demands from Customer Scheduling as forecasts in Master Scheduling.

Prerequisites

This activity requires the existence of a Level 1 Part that has an associated set of plan demands in IFS/Customer Scheduling. 

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the system imports a set of customer plan demands from IFS/Customer Scheduling for the specified Level 1 Part. The results appear as forecast data in the Register Forecast tab of the MS Level 1 Part window..

Procedure

  1. In IFS/Customer Scheduling, verify the existence of the plan demands that you want to import.
  2. Open the Import Customer Schedules dialog box.
  3. In the Site field, either accept the default value or enter another site for the Level 1 part for which to import plan demands or  type in a value or use the List button to select from a list of available sites.
  4. In the Part No field, type in a part number or use the List button to select from a list of available parts.
  5. In the Customer field, type in a customer ID number or use the List button to select from available customers. If you leave this field blank, the system will select all available customers.
  6. In the To MS Set field, either accept the default value or enter the number of another MS set.
  7. In the Begin Date field, either accept the default value or enter another date on which you want to begin importing plan demands for the Level 1 part. If you leave this field blank, the system will import data from the earliest plan demand from the day after the demand time fence date through the End Date.
  8. In the End Date field, enter the date on which you want to stop importing plan demands for the Level 1 part. If you leave this field blank, the system will import data from the Begin Date through the date of the latest plan demand.
  9. In the Forecast Distribution group box, click the As Is or Weekly radio button.
  10. In the Process group box, click the Background or Online radio button. 
  11. If desired, select the check box at the bottom of the dialog box. This tells the system to import plan demands that are inside the planning time fence date.
  12. Click OK. The system imports the plan demands for the specified site, part, and customer within the selected time span.
  13. If the import process is being done in the background, view its progress in the Background Jobs window.
  14. When the import process is complete, view the forecast data in the Register Forecast tab of the MS Level 1 Part window.
