Remove Maintenance Group for Serial Part

Explanation

This activity is used to remove a maintenance group for a serial part. This activity is useful when a maintenance group becomes obsolete and should be phased out. In addition to the maintenance group, the connected operational parameters as well as all connected maintenance plans within maintenance programs will be removed.

Prerequisites

• The serials which are connected to the maintenance group that is to be removed should be connected to a different maintenance group either in the same or different maintenance program.
• The maintenance group that is to be removed cannot be the last maintenance group for the serial part, within a maintenance program.

System Effects

• The maintenance group including the connected operational parameters will be removed.
• The maintenance plans connected to the maintenance group will be removed from the relevant maintenance programs.
• An entry will be created automatically in the maintenance program journal.

Procedure

1. Open the Serial Part window.
2. Populate (F2) or query (F3) for the necessary serial part.
3. Click the Maint Group tab.
4. Select the maintenance group you wish to remove, right-click and then click Remove Maintenance Group.
5. Click Yes to remove the maintenance group or Cancel to cancel the action.

Note: This procedure can also be performed from the Maintenance Group window and the Maint Group sub tab found in the Establish Maintenance Data for Template Structures/Template Structure tab.
