Change Structure Position

Explanation

This activity is used to change a structure position in the active template structure. A structure positions may need to be changed, for instance, if it is an erroneous structure position.

When a structure position is changed, you need to change the position alternates and dependencies which are defined for this structure position. Furthermore, if the structure position you want to change is the dependent structure position, you should change any dependencies that are defined against this structure position.

Prerequisites

• A serial structure with an Active status must exist.
• Valid structure positions must have been defined for this serial structure.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the selected structure position is changed.

Procedure

1. Open the Serial Structure Template window, and query (F3) for your template structure. Alternatively, this procedure can also be performed using the Template Structure Navigator window.
2. If you need to move down the structure, click the Consist Of tab, select the row that contains the part, right-click, and then click Next Level until the required part is displayed on the tab.
3. Select the row, right-click, and then click Change Structure Position. The Change Structure Position dialog box opens.
4. Enter the value for your new structure position in the New Str Position field.
5. Click OK.
