Reserve Existing Serial Numbers

Explanation

This activity is used to reserve an existing serial number for a specific shop order. The reserved serial number is used when a part is received into inventory.

Prerequisites

• The MRO shop order should be an assembly shop order.
• The part should be defined as an inventory serial tracking part.
• The part should not have been received into inventory already.

Reserve Existing Serials for Shop Order

Procedure

1. Open the Receive MRO Shop Order window and query for the assembly shop order for which you wish to reserve existing serial numbers.
2. Right-click in the header, point to Assembly Tracking Handling and then click Reserve Existing Serial No. This opens the Reserve Existing Serials for Shop Order dialog box.
3. Click New and then enter the serial number you wish to reserve. Follow this step to create as many lines as required.
4. Click Apply and then OK.
