Use this activity to change the total manufactured quantity.
When the lot size of the shop order pegged to a DOP order
is changed, a message appears inquiring whether or not to automatically update the quantity for the DOP order. If the DOP order is not updated, an alarm is created for the quantity mismatch
between the shop order and DOP order. A quantity shortage alarm may be resolved
by either creating a new pegged order or by netting.
As a result of this activity:
- The shop order will be expanded or contracted according to changes to its scheduled time requirement as a result of changing the lot size. This will be done without changing the current start time of the shop order.
- If expanding an order causes the subsequent order to become tardy, the latter will be rescheduled by using its earliest possible start time as a constraint. If not, only its current start time will be used as a constraint when rescheduling it.
- In the case of a DOP structure, a tardy order will be considered only if it is at the highest level in the structure, not if it is at a lower level.
Note: However in the following situations, the scheduled start time is changed:
- If the expanded SO is scheduled in the past before expanding.
- If the expanded SO affects a promised SO and cannot be scheduled before it.
