Define Part Characteristics

Explanation

Use this activity to define special characteristics for an inventory part.

Prerequisites

This activity has the following prerequisites:

• The inventory part must exist.
• Characteristic codes and a characteristic template must also have been defined.

System Effects

The system stores the characteristic values for the inventory part.

Procedure

1. Open the Inventory Part window
2. Query for the inventory part for which you want to define special characteristics.
3. In the Characteristics tab, select New.
4. In the Characteristic Template field, specify the characteristic template that contains the characteristic codes for the inventory part. Use the List of Values to select from available characteristic templates.
5. For each characteristic code listed, specify a value for this inventory part in the Attribute Value column. 
6. Save the changes.
