Visualization for Shop Orders Material Availability

The visualization for the shop order material availability category shows graphical information related to the status of shop orders with respect to material availability. This allows Manufacturing personnel to drill down to find the materials that are currently unavailable and take necessary action to source materials with shortages, substitute alternates, peg material lines to existing supply orders, create pegged orders and to confirm planned supplies before the production orders are released and reserved.

The material availability types are described in this table.

When considering shop orders with multiple material lines, the material availability type of the shop order is displayed based on the worst case scenario. For example, if a shop order has material lines with the Available Covers Demand availability type and also lines with the Need Orders availability type, the shop order will belong to the Need Orders category.

Definitions for the dates used on the tool tips of the material availability charts and how these days are calculated are as follows.

Date Required: The date when the part is required by the shop order.

Latest Order Date: If the component part is purchased, the latest order date is calculated as the date required minus the purchase lead time on the inventory part for the component. If the part is manufactured, the latest order date is calculated as the date required minus the manufacturing lead time on inventory part for the component. The lead time is calculated in working days according to the calendars used.

Definitions for the different types of quantities mentioned on the tool tips of the material availability charts are as follows:

Qty Remaining: The quantity of the component part remaining and available for reservation for the shop order.

Pegged Qty: The total supply quantity that is pegged to the material line.

Shortage Qty: The quantity that remains to be supplied to this material line for which there are not enough supplies as yet.

Required Supply Qty: The quantity that remains to be supplied to the material lines for which the quantity on existing supplies will cover the demand.

The calculation for shortage quantity and required supply quantity are affected by whether Include Requisitions or Exclude Requisitions is selected as the supply option.

General Navigation, Actions and Configuration

When you right-click on one or several selected segment(s) you will get several navigation options. You could either navigate to another relevant visualization chart, or to the relevant page in the application. When you navigate in this way, the new visualization or page will be filtered to only show the objects selected.

The following navigation and actions possibilities are available in the charts, if applicable.

Navigation:

• Right-click on a segment and click Shop Orders Material Availability, Shop Order Material Lines Availability, or Shop Order Material Demand to navigate to the relevant chart.
• Right-click on a segment and click Shop Order(s) to zoom into the information on shop orders belonging to that type.
• Right-click and click Shop Order Material Planning to get an overview of the selected shop orders and the material available for them.
• Right-click and click Inventory Part in Stock to view and handle the inventory parts in stock.
• Right-click and click Inventory Part in Stock Reservations to view information about the parts reserved in stock.
• Right-click on a bar and click Inventory Part Availability Planning to view the planning information for a part.
• Right-click on a section of the bar and click Show Supply Detail to view the purchase order lines, purchase requisition lines, shop orders, shop order requisitions and production schedules that have been created for material that is required for the shop order.
• Right-click on a bar and click Show Supplier(s) to view the suppliers defined for the particular part.
• Right-click on the section of the bar and click Multilevel Availability Check to check the availability of a part and its components based on a specific need date and quantity.

Configuration:

Right-click, point to Supply Option and then click Include Requisitions or Exclude Requisitions to specify whether the requisitions should be included as supplies or not.

Publish and Subscribe Parameters

Charts can be published so that the chart is used as a master and changes in one chart are reflected in others. The following parameters are published from each chart.

When the chart is set up as a subscriber, it is possible to subscribe to the parameters below for the given chart set up as publisher. To be able to subscribe to a parameter, another chart needs to be set up as publisher and that chart must be able to publish the parameter.
