Enable Condition Codes
Explanation
Use this activity to enable condition code functionality for specific serial and/or lot/batch tracked parts.
Once condition codes functionality is enabled for a part, it cannot be disabled.
Condition code values will then be required to be entered in several different
windows in IFS Applications.
Prerequisites
- The specific part must be serial and/or lot/batch tracked.
- Condition codes must be defined on the
Condition Code tab
of the Part Basic Data window. These values will be
available from a List of Values in a number of windows in IFS Applications
after condition code functionality is enabled for the specified part.
System Effects
- Once this activity is completed, condition code functionality cannot be
disabled for this part.
- You will be required to select condition codes from the List of Values in
a number of windows throughout IFS Applications.
- Condition codes will appear as read-only values in a large number of other
windows.
- A history of any changes to condition code values for specific serial parts
and lot/batches will be available
in part catalog history windows and the
Lot Batch Master
window, respectively.

Procedure
To enable condition code functionality for a part:
- Open the Part window.
- Query for the specific part for which you want to enable condition code
functionality. The part must be serial tracked and/or lot/batch tracked.
- In the
General tab, select the Allow Condition Code check
box.
- Save the record.
