Connect or Change Availability Control ID (Pallet)
Explanation
Use this activity to connect or change an existing connection between a
pallet location and an availability control ID. The parameters set for the
availability ID will be used for determining availability of parts from this
pallet location. This functionality is useful for performing, for instance, a
modification or a test before using or selling the parts. It also can be used when a part
is being taken out of stock.
If an availability control ID already is connected to a pallet location, you can change
the connection or completely remove it. If the pallet location does not have a connection,
you can make a new one. There is one important difference between using the availability
control ID connected to single-handled parts and pallets. Single-handled parts are only
affected per location record. If you try to connect an availability control ID to a
pallet, all pallets at the same location are affected.
When you enter an availability control ID for a pallet location, it is valid from that
moment forward. This means that demands and purchase orders that are already entered will
not be affected.
Prerequisites
- An availability control ID must have been entered in IFS/Inventory,
Inventory Basic Data/Part Availability Controls.
System Effects
As a result of this activity:
- An availability control ID is connected to, changed, or removed from a pallet location.
