Enter Basic Data for Customs Statistics Number

Explanation

Use this activity to view, enter, and delete customs statistics number records. These numbers are used to classify goods for customs declarations. This optional task is to be performed by a system administrator or equivalent person.

The TARIC classification, consisting of approximately 20,000 statistical codes enables coordination of customs fees between EC members. The Harmonized Commodity and Coding System (HS) is used by most countries for transportation, customs, and trade statistics. The European Community has extended the HS and established a coding system used in combination with the TARIC (Tarif Intgr Communautaire) classification system. If you use this functionality, you should use the standard statistical numbers for importing goods to or from the European Community.
