Enter and Maintain Storage Zones

Explanation

Use this activity to enter and maintain storage zones. They can be entered for normal as well as pallet handled parts. Storage zones are used when scanning the inventory for suitable/available locations when performing the inventory putaway process. You could also consolidate customer order picking based on storage zones.

This activity has no prerequisites.

System Effects

A new storage zone is created with one or more zone definitions. When entering storage zones, a separate column exists that displays the SQL expression that will be used based on the values entered in the columns for warehouse levels.

Procedure

From the Storage Zone window:

1. Open the window and click New.
2. Enter appropriate values for storage zone ID and storage zone description.
3. Enter your site manually or select from the List of Values.
4. In the table section, create a new record.
5. Save your changes.

Note that you can use special symbols when entering data in the table section. For example, if you want to enter warehouses 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, the condition would be 5..10
