Remove a Maintenance Group from an Active Maintenance Program
Explanation
This activity is used to remove a maintenance group and the
connected maintenance plan from an active maintenance program revision. The
purpose of this activity is to enable phasing out a maintenance group that is no
longer used.
Once a maintenance group has been introduced to a
maintenance program, the program has been activated and the serials are connected
to the program and the maintenance group. You cannot remove
this maintenance group from the later revisions of the maintenance program.
When a new revision of a maintenance program is activated, all the serials connected
to the maintenance program will automatically be moved to the new revision of
the maintenance program. If the maintenance group of the serial does not exist
in the new revision of the maintenance program, an error will occur.
The process of phasing out a maintenance group
from an active maintenance program is as follows:
- Create new revision of a maintenance program. Make
sure that all the maintenance groups in the old revision of the maintenance
program also exists in the new revision.
- Make the necessary adjustments to the new revision of
the maintenance program, including adding new maintenance groups.
- Activate the new revision of the maintenance
program.
- Identify all the serials using the maintenance group
that should be phased out. For all these serials, change the maintenance group
to the new one.
- Use the Remove Maintenance Group right
mouse button option to
remove the maintenance group from the active maintenance program.
Prerequisites
- All the serials connected to the maintenance group that
is to be removed from a maintenance program, must be connected to a different
maintenance group in the same or different maintenance program.
- The maintenance group to be removed cannot be the
last group for the part number, within the maintenance program.
System Effects
- The selected maintenance group including the
connected maintenance plan will be removed from the active maintenance
program.
- An entry will be created in the maintenance program
journal.
