Copy Maintenance Program

Explanation

This activity is used to copy information from one maintenance program to another. You can choose to copy an entire maintenance program or select the data you want copied to the maintenance program. With this activity you will find the creation of maintenance programs easier. 

Prerequisites

• A maintenance program in any of the valid statuses (i.e., Preliminary, Active or Obsolete) must exist to copy data from.
• The maintenance program to which data is to be copied must be in the Preliminary status.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, maintenance program data is copied to the maintenance program which is in the status Preliminary.

Procedure

1. Open the Define Maintenance Program window and query (F3) for the maintenance program to which data is to be copied.
2. Right-click anywhere in the header and then click Copy Maintenance Program. The Copy Maintenance Program assistant will open.
3. In the Maint Program ID field, enter the maintenance program from which data is to be copied.
4. In the Copy Options area select the check boxes that indicate the types of data you want copied to the maintenance program. Following is a list of the check boxes that can be selected:

• Access Groups - Copies the access groups that are defined on the maintenance program from which data is to be copied.
• Parts - Copies the parts that are defined on the maintenance program from which data is to be copied.
• Part Revisions - Copies the part revisions that are defined on the maintenance program from which data is to be copied. Please note that part revisions are dependent on parts and therefore the Parts check box must be selected when selecting this check box.
• Maint Groups - Copies the maintenance groups that are defined on the maintenance program from which data is to copied.
• Intervals - Copies the maintenance intervals that are defined for the maintenance program from which data is to be copied.
• Convenience Tasks - Copies all convenience tasks defined for the maintenance program and maintenance group from which data is to be copied.
• Connected Documents - Copies the documents that are connected to the maintenance program from which data is to be copied.

5. Click Finish.
