Assign Part Revision to Modification

Explanation

This activity is used to assign valid part revisions to the modification. The manual registration of assigned part revisions is required, for instance, when a part with more than one part revision is assigned to a modification that has the assignment type By Revision All Serials. At this instance, the valid part revisions will not be assigned to the modification automatically. You need to manually assign the relevant part revision(s) as described in this activity. Note: If the part assigned to a modification with the assignment type By Revision All Serials has only one part revision, this part revision is assigned automatically to the modification. When a part with one or more defined part revisions is assigned to a modification that has the assignment type By Serial Range, all valid part revisions are assigned automatically to the modification.

If the modification leads to the change of a part and/or part revision on an assigned part, this activity can be used to enter the new part number and/or the revision for the assigned part. If a new part number is entered, the serial part identity will be changed automatically when the modification is performed and will include the new part number and its part revision.

Note: If the modification leads to the change of a part revision only, no automatic changes will be performed and it is used for informational purposes only.
