Specify a Default Part Transfer Template per Site

Explanation

Use this activity to specify a default part transfer template by part type for each site. The default part transfer template is used in the conversion of engineering parts into inventory parts. If the site/part type combination has a default part transfer template identified, this value appears in the conversion form (although you can change the value). If no default part transfer template is identified, nothing defaults in the conversion form.

Prerequisites

This activity has the following prerequisites:

• A part transfer template must be defined in Part Transfer Template.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the system stores a default part transfer template by part type for a given site.

Procedure

1. Open the Manufacturing Standard Basic Data window.
2. Click the Default Part Template tab.
3. Select New.
4. Select the site for which to store the default part transfer template in the Site column. Use the List of Values to select from available sites.
5. Select the part type in the Part Type list.
6. Select the part transfer template you want as default in the Template ID column. Use the List of Values to select from available part transfer templates.
7. Save the changes.
