Create Planning Structure

Explanation

Use this activity to manually enter the structure of a part, i.e., the components comprising the parent part. The planning structures represent structures of product families used by two-level master scheduling.

Prerequisites

This activity requires that the parent part and the components must have been defined in the Inventory Part window and the parent part must have a planning method of either O or T.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the system connects components to a parent part.

Procedure

  1. Display the parent part by populating or by making a selective query.
  2. Mark the first empty line in the Planning Structure tab. Create a new record (F5).
  3. Select the component site in the Component Site column. Click List of Values to select from available sites.
  4. Select the component part in the Component Part column. Click List of Values to select from available parts.
  5. In the Quantity per Assembly column, enter the quantity of the component to go into one of the parent parts.
  6. Repeat steps 3-5 for each component.
  7. Save the record (F12).
