Define Additional Code Parts Value

Explanation

This activity is used to define counterparts and other additional code parts to be used in the Group Consolidation process. Counterparts are used to eliminate the internal transactions of a group of companies. Code parts N to T can optionally be used internally in the master company for e.g. reporting of non-IS/BS related information.

Prerequisites

In order to perform this activity, a master company (i.e. a company with the Master Company check box selected on the Company/General tab) should exist.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, values for counterparts and other additional code parts will be available in the system to be used in the Group Consolidation process.

Procedure

To define counterparts:

  1. Open the Additional Code Part Values window and create a new record on the Counterpart One tab.
  2. Enter an ID for the counterpart value in the Counterpart One field and a description in the Description field.
  3. Enter the reporting entity represented by the counterpart one value in the Reporting Entity field to be able to identify necessary eliminations of internal trade balances based on a company structure. The List of Values can be used to select the relevant reporting entity. Only reporting entities of Reporting type can be used. This field can be left blank if the counterpart value represents an external counterpart which is not related to a reporting entity.
  4. Specify the time period for which the counterpart will be valid by entering the relevant dates in the Valid From and Valid Until fields.
  5. Repeat steps 2-4 to enter all the required counterpart values for counterpart one.
  6. Click on the Counterpart Two tab and repeat steps 2, 4 and 5 in order to enter code part values for counterpart two.
  7. Depending on which additional code parts that are used by the company, click on tabs Code N to Code T and repeat steps 2, 4 and 5 in order to enter code part values for the other additional code parts.
  8. Save the information.
