List Of Values is an aid to entering valid field values. For instance, when you register an order, you might have to enter a customer number. In this situation, you can use the list of values for the customer number field to get a list of all customers available in the system.
Valid selections for the current fields are displayed and may be selected back to the field.
Select List of Values from the Commands menu. You can also press F8 or click on the List Of Values button in the
toolbar.
You can win some
time if you know the starting characters in the value you’re looking for. Enter
the characters in the field and press Ctrl + K. This will automatically
open the List of Values dialog but listing only what’s starting with the text
you entered. If the result is only one record, it will automatically be selected
and no List of Values dialog will be shown.
Hint! You can use the list of values from within the query dialog. Click List to open the list of values dialog.
This window contains:
OK: Closes the dialog and writes a reference to the selected object in the field. If you use list of values from within the query dialog and select more than one object, your selection will be written as condition.
Cancel: Closes the dialog without changing the value of the field.
Populate: Populates the list with all objects.
Query: Opens the query dialog for searching or for making a selection of the permitted objects.
