Create Functional Object

Explanation

Use this activity to create a new functional object. Functional objects can be created manually in IFS/Equipment. 

Prerequisites

• Information on the object level must have been entered in Equipment Basic Data.
• The parent object must have been retrieved if you want to create a new object that belongs to a parent object. 

System Effects

As a result of this activity, a new functional object that can be used throughout the system is created.

Procedure

1. In the Functional Object window, create a new record. (Alternatively, on an equipment object in the Business Object Explorer, right-click and then click Create Functional Object.)
2. In the Object ID field, enter a unique ID code for the equipment object.
3. In the Description field, enter a short description of the object.
4. The Site field displays the default site for your user ID. If you want to select another site, you can either directly enter the site ID into this field or use the List of Values to select another site.
5. In the Object Level field, either directly enter the object level or use the List of Values to select a suitable value. 
6. Save the record.

Note:  After you save the record, the system automatically sets the object's operational status to In Operation.
