Record Discrepancies on Disposition Line

Explanation

Use this activity to specify the discrepancies found for the part being dispositioned.

Prerequisites

This activity requires the existence of a disposition line on a disposition shop order in the state of Released. It also requires the existence of discrepancy codes defined for the part being dispositioned.

System Effects

As a result of this activity the specific discrepancies will be identified. The discrepancies will be used to select the appropriate repair codes. If the discrepancy code has a cross reference to a VIM fault code, a connection has been created that will create a fault history record for the serial in VIM when the disposition line is approved.

Procedure

1. Click New (F5) in the Discrepancies tab; the Discrepancy ID field is automatically filled with the next consecutive number.
2. In the Discrepancy Code field, type the discrepancy code you have selected for the part. Click List of Values (F8) to select from available discrepancy codes.
3. Type comments in the Comments field, if appropriate.
4. Click Save.
