Create First Revision

Explanation

Use this activity to create the first revision of a part if the first revision was not created together with the engineering part.

Prerequisites

The engineering part must exist.

System Effects

The new revision can be accessed from Engineering Part Revision and Engineering Part Revisions windows.

Procedure

Note: When you create a new part the first revision is created automatically with the default format. Alternatively, you can define your own revision number by deleting the revision created by the system. To create the first revision manually follow the steps given below.

Create a new revision in Engineering Parts

1. Select the engineering part.
2. Right-click and click Create Revision.
3. Register First Revision dialog box will open.
4. Enter the revision and a revision text..
5. Click OK. This option is enabled when the Part Rev and Journal Note fields are completed.

Create a new revision in Part/Engineering/Part Detail

1. Create a new record.
2. Enter the revision.
3. Save the new revision record.
