Define Message Receivers

Explanation

Use this activity to define addresses for message receivers, i.e., an identifier for the inbox/outbox locations. The Setup Connectivity/Message Reciever tab contains information about the receiver of the messages transmitted from the Outbox to the Inbox using SQL*Net or SQL. If the transmission is based on files or third-party tolls (like Amtrix) no receiver needs to be entered here.

Where (sites) databases exist on the same server/database, then the receiver address and the site ID will be identical. Where sites exist on different servers then this maps the sending (site) database and receiving database information.

Prerequisites

• Administrator access is required. Consult your system administrator for assistance.
• A connectivity installation site must have been entered in the Setup Connectivity/Message Reciever tab.

System Effects

You have entered a message receiver that represents the sender and receiver of messages. The message receiver is connected to the installation site entered earlier. The receiver address is later on specified when entering the message setup information for suppliers and customers. The value can be found in the List of Values.

Procedure

1. Open the Setup Connectivity window.
2. In the Message Reciever tab, create a new record.
3. Enter a message receiver address to represent the sender and receiver of messages. Also, enter a name or description of your receiver address.
4. Associate this with the installation site entered in the activity for establishing connectivity site.
5. Save your entry.
