Define Cancellation Cause

Explanation

This activity is used to define cancellation causes. A cancellation cause is required when you want to cancel a maintenance task (in IFS/Vehicle Information Management) that has been issued to a workshop or when you want to cancel a work order or an operation on a work order (in IFS/Work Order Management).

The cause for cancellation is created and can be used to cancel maintenance tasks, work orders or work order operations.

Procedure

  1. Open the Operation Basic Data window or the Maintenance Task Basic Data window.
  2. Click the Cancel Cause tab and create a new record (F5).
  3. Enter a value in the Cancel Cause field. You can enter a maximum of 10 alphanumeric characters here.
  4. In the Description field, enter a short description for the defined canceling cause.
  5. Save the record (F12).
