Define Default External File Template for Company

Explanation

Use this activity to define the default external file template per company and external file type.
Since each external file type corresponds more or less to a component specific interface, this activity makes it possible on the company level to define the default external file template for each interface (external file type). This can be useful when an external interface, e.g. the External Vouchers interface in Accounting Rules, is used to read and process external data to be defined in a specific company and it is required that the default external file template should be suggested by default in the interface.

Prerequisites

External file types and valid external file templates must be available.
Please note that an external file template must be marked as valid, marked as active and must also have definitions for input or output files to be considered as a usable template.

System Effects

A defined file template will be suggested as the default one when processing an external file, with data related to a specific company, via an interface associated with the external file type linked to the file template
