Save Configuration Template

Explanation

This activity is used to save a configuration as a configuration template that can be used as a predefined configuration. The configuration template is saved for the part revision for which you create the configuration. When you save the template you enter a template id, description and as optional information you can enter a note about the specific configuration template. The saved template can be loaded to a sales quotation or customer order, for the specific part revision, using the load template from the Configuration window.

Prerequisites

• IFS/Configuration Back Office and IFS/Configuration Characteristic must have been installed.
• A configuration family and the part configuration revision must exist.

System Effects

The characteristics, options and quantities in the configuration will be saved to the specified configuration template id.

Procedure

1. On the Configuration window, right-click and then click Save as Template. The Template Info dialog box opens.
2. In the Template ID field, enter an appropriate id.
3. In the Template Description field, enter an applicable description.
4. If you want to enter additional information that describes the template, click the Notes field and enter the required information.
5. Click OK to save the template.
6. Close the Template Info dialog box and continue with the configuration.
