Explanation

This activity is used to convert a lead to a prospect, end customer or a customer.

This activity has no prerequisites.

System Effects

When you convert the lead to customer, the lead record will be deleted.

Procedure

  1. Open the Business Lead window.
  2. Query for a lead record.
  3. Right-click and select Convert Lead to open the Convert Lead dialog box.
  4. You can enter the identification number of the new customer record to be created. If you keep the field empty then the new customer ID will be generated automatically.
  5. Optionally, you can change the customer name.
  6. Optionally, you can enter/change value for the Association No field.
    Note: This number is optional and is only required by certain countries.
  7. Select the customer category from the Category list.
    Optionally, if you are converting the lead to a prospect or a customer, you can use a template customer.
  8. Select the template customer ID from the List of Values.
  9. If you want to overwrite the market on the business lead from-template, select the company from the List of Values for the Company field and then select Overwrite Order Related Data check box.
  10. If you want to copy address related information from template, select the Transfer Address Related Info from Template check box. This will copy information such as delivery tax, document tax, order address information and supply chain matrix for customer to the customer’s default delivery address from the template.
