Evaluate Configuration
Explanation
This activity is used to evaluate the configuration rules defined on the compatible unit template. It is designed to perform automatically based on the characteristic values when the configuration criteria is saved.
However, partially paused evaluations can be continued with the right mouse option
Evaluate, which is available on the
Define Compatible Unit
Configuration window. This activity is also
supported by an evaluation assistant planned for handling invalid cost associations such as materials, crafts, tools.
Prerequisites
Saved configuration criteria must exist.
System Effects
The status of the Configuration criteria will be changed as Evaluated.

Evaluation Assistant
Procedure
Evaluate a new configuration criteria.
- Open Define Compatible
Unit Configuration window. This can be opened by performing
Create or Copy Configuration options on a
Compatible Unit Template structure or a Compatible Unit, it self. It
can also be opened by performing a query on the
Define Compatible
Unit Configuration window.
- Define the configuration criteria by entering all characteristic values.
- Save the configuration criteria. The configuration obtains status as Configured.
Now the configuration starts to evaluate and Evaluation Assistant
opens.
- Use the evaluation assistant step 1 to enter the mandatory information
required to create the compatible unit revision.
- Use the evaluation assistant step 2 to handle invalid standard jobs, if
available.
- Use the evaluation assistant step 3 to handle invalid crafts, if
available.
- Use the evaluation assistant step 4 to handle invalid parts, if
available.
- Use the evaluation assistant step 5 to handle invalid tools and
facilities, if available.
- Use the evaluation step 6 to view the summary. Select Run the
evaluation as a background Job option to run the evaluation as a
background job.
- Finish the Evaluation Assistant.
Evaluate an existing configuration criteria.
- Open Define Compatible
Unit Configuration window. This can be opened by
performing View Configuration options on a Compatible Unit
Template structure. It can also be opened by performing a query on the
Define Compatible
Unit Configuration window.
- Select a configuration criteria that is of Configured
status.
- Choose the right mouse option Evaluate. Now the
configuration starts to evaluate and Evaluation Assistant
opens..
- Use the evaluation assistant step 1 to enter the mandatory information
required to create the compatible unit revision.
- Use the evaluation assistant step 2 to handle invalid standard jobs, if
available.
- Use the evaluation assistant step 3 to handle invalid crafts, if
available.
- Use the evaluation assistant step 4 to handle invalid parts, if
