Define Authority Approvals

Explanation

This activity is used to define the approvals that will be issued by each authority. The approval can be for a number of different types of objects or for a single type of object. The approval can also be for any level of work that is to be carried out.

Prerequisites

To perform this activity, a valid authority must have been defined.

System Effects

• Valid approval types are defined per authority.
• The basic data for part certificates is predefined and ready to be used when creating aviation part certificates for work orders.

Procedure

1. Open the Part Certificate Basic Data window.
2. Click the Authority Approvals tab and populate (F2) or query (F3) for the relevant authority.
3. Create a new record (F5) in the table.
4. In the Approval Type field, enter the type of approval valid for the selected authority.
5. In the Description field, enter a description of the approval type.
6. Save the information (F12).

Note: You can also choose to define an authority ID and approval type simultaneously in the Part Certificate Basic Data/Authority Approvals tab.
