Set up Class Properties

Explanation

This activity is used to configure a predefined set of class properties. Record Type, the main class property, provides seven options; Plant Object, Plant Connection Point, Plant Cable, Plant IO Card, Plant Channel, Plant Signal and Plant Object for supporting easy object categorization in plant structures. The remaining properties, Nozzles, Wires and Terminals, can be configured to be true or false for a selected class enabling/disabling their definition on design objects or design parts. It is also possible to configure that design object properties for a particular class should be updated from their corresponding design parts by default.

A class must be defined first.

Procedure

1. Open the Class window.
2. Search for the class for which you want to define class properties.
3. In the Record Type field, select the relevant record type from the list, and save.
4. Click the Class Properties tab.
5. Click New (+).
6. In the Name field, select the class property you want to define.
7. In the Value field, select the check box if you want the selected class property to be enabled.
8. Click Save.

Alternatively perform steps 1-3 and: 

1. Right click and click Define Class Properties. The Class Properties window opens.
2. Select the cell for the class against the class property to be added.
3. Click Save.
