Define Standard

Explanation

This activity involves defining a Standard, which is the starting point of configuring the IFS/Asset Design data structure. After defining the standard, one or more Plants can be defined based on it, followed by Classes, ID Models, ID Separators and Design Part Code Collections.

System Effects

• A standard is created which can be used in other business object definitions in IFS/Asset Design.
• A standard specific Default Class (*) is also created.

Procedure

1. Open the Standard window.
2. Click New.
3. In the Standard field, enter a unique name for your standard.
4. In the Description field, enter a short description of your standard.
5. Enter values in the remaining fields, as required, to document your standard for others.
6. Click Save.
