Technical Characteristics provide a system for designing and displaying technical data labels and units of measures for fields in data registration and display windows within IFS/Asset Design. A class with technical characteristics serves as a template from which technical attributes will be automatically copied for design objects and/or design parts of that class when they are created. The way in which a class with technical attributes is achieved is by adding a technical class, that has been previously defined with technical attributes in IFS/Application Services, to the design object or design part class.
For complex pieces of equipment (e.g., heat exchanger), Technical Class Groups may be created. Each group is an array of technical attributes listed by a expandable header within Characteristics for Attachments. IFS Business Analytics can be used to create and analyze information based on design objects and their technical specification data available in IFS Applications.
