Define Milestone Information on Design Object Class

Explanation

This activity is used to assign a milestone template and a milestone to an object class. A milestone template consists of one or more milestones. Milestones can be used to state the progress of a design object, for example, you can select a milestone with a cumulative progress value of 100% when you have completed work on the design object.

The defined milestone template and milestone number appears automatically on the new design object you create using the selected object class. It is also possible to define a milestone template on the object class without specifying a milestone. When this is done, the milestone template appears automatically on the new design object, and you can manually select a milestone number.

Prerequisites

A milestone template and a milestone needs to exist.

System Effects

When a new design object is created using the object class, values for milestone template and an initial milestone number appear automatically.

Procedure

Open the Class or Classes window.
Query for the design object class to which you want to add the default milestone template.
In the Milestone Template field, enter the milestone template identity that should be connected to the particular class.
In the Milestone Number field, enter the milestone number that should be connected to the particular class.
Click Save.
