Enter Emergency Service Types

Explanation

This activity is used to enter the building blocks of the emergency service schedulesthe emergency service type. The types are used in both the emergency service cycle schedule and in the substitute emergency service schedule.

The type describes the wage code for each time interval with a different rate of compensation. You need to specify each time interval that is differently compensated. You also need types to cover each day that is compensated differently from any other day.

Procedure

  1. Enter the name and description of the emergency service type.
  2. Enter the start time and end time for the intervals in the From Time and To Time fields. In the From Day and To Day lists, specify whether the times refer to the current, previous, or next day compared to the account date. The Sum field displays the number of hours which the interval covers.
  3. In the Wage Code field, select the wage code for the relevant interval, using the List of Values. The wage code name appears automatically.
  4. In the Validity field, select the Emergency Gross option if the compensation is independent of whether the employee clocks-in the current day. Select the Emergency Net value if the actual presence should be considered in the calculation of the compensation.
  5. In the Value Type list, select from among the predefined values.
  6. In the Value field, the value involved with the Fixed or Maximum value types is entered.
  7. If appropriate, in the Value Threshold field, enter a value which must be reached before the increment is given. The threshold is based on time, which falls within the specified relevance.
  8. If appropriate, in the Factor field, specify the multiplication factor. The number of hours allocated by the calculation is multiplied by the specified factor. Although the default factor is 1, this value can be changed.
